This Privacy Policy explains how HomeLooker (“HomeLooker,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit homelooker.net (the “Site”) or purchase the First-Time Buyer Course (the “Course”).

1. Who We Are

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us:

—Your email address (and name, if you give it) when you sign up for the free guide or the year-one reminders

—Account and purchase details when you buy the Course: name, email, billing country and the address details our payment processor needs, what you bought, when, and any refund

—Your login details for your Course account (passwords are stored encrypted)

—Anything you send us by email or through the contact form

—Card details go straight to our payment processor (Stripe). We never see or store your full card number

Information collected automatically:

—Pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location, through Google Analytics 4, only if you accept statistics cookies

—Your IP address and browser details in short-lived security logs, used to block attacks and protect logins

—Whether you open our emails and click their links (measured by Brevo), so we can see which emails are useful

—Your cookie choices, so the Site remembers them

3. Why We Use It (and Our Legal Basis)

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we need a legal basis for each use of your data:

—To give you the Course and your account, take payment, send receipts and handle refunds: to perform our contract with you

—To send the free guide, newsletters, and the year-one reminder emails: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email

—To send essential messages about your purchase (login help, important changes to the Course or these policies): to perform our contract with you

—To measure how the Site is used: your consent (statistics cookies)

—To keep the Site, payments and accounts secure and prevent fraud: our legitimate interest in protecting the Site and our customers

—To answer your messages: our legitimate interest in replying to you, or steps you ask for before buying

—To keep accounting and tax records: our legal obligation

We do not sell or rent your personal information, we do not use it for targeted advertising, and we do not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Service Providers We Use

These companies process data for us under data processing agreements, only for the purposes above:

—SureCart — checkout, orders and customer accounts

—Stripe — card payments and fraud prevention

—SureMembers — controls access to Course pages (runs on our own website)

—Brevo (France) — sends the free guide, the year-one reminders and our other emails

—KnownHost — hosts the Site

—Google Analytics 4 — Site statistics, only after you accept statistics cookies

—Google reCAPTCHA — protects the login and registration pages from bots

—Wordfence — website firewall and login security

—Jetpack (Automattic) — runs the contact form and some security features

—Complianz — shows the cookie banner and stores your choice on our website

—UpdraftPlus with Google Drive — encrypted-in-transit backups of the Site, including its database

5. International Transfers

Some of these providers (for example Stripe, SureCart and Google) may process data in the United States or other countries outside the EU. When they do, the transfer is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it, or by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for more detail on the safeguards for any provider.

6. Cookies

We use cookies that the Site needs to work (for example to keep you signed in to your Course account and to remember your cookie choice). Statistics cookies (Google Analytics 4) are only set after you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your mind any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer. 7. How Long We Keep It

—Account and Course access: for as long as you have the Course, or until you ask us to delete your account

—Invoices, payments and refunds: for 10 years after the end of the year they relate to, as Slovenian VAT law requires, even if your account is deleted

—Email list: until you unsubscribe. We keep unsubscribed addresses on a suppression list only so we never email you again

—Messages to support: up to 2 years after the conversation ends

—Analytics data: no longer than 14 months

—Security logs and backups: short periods, after which they are automatically overwritten

8. Your Rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

—See a copy of the personal data we hold about you

—Correct it, or delete it (unless we must keep it by law, such as invoices)

—Receive it in a portable format

—Restrict or object to how we use it, including objecting to anything based on our legitimate interests

—Withdraw your consent at any time (this doesn’t affect what we did before you withdrew it)

Email support@homelooker.net. We answer within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. Ours is the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia (Informacijski pooblaščenec, ip-rs.si). You can also contact the authority where you live.

US residents: depending on your state (for example California), you may have rights to know, delete and correct your information and to opt out of its sale, sharing or use for targeted advertising. We don’t sell or share personal information or use it for targeted ads, and we honor the requests above from everyone, wherever they live.

9. Data Security

We use HTTPS, a website firewall, two-factor login for our admin account, protected downloads and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

10. Age

The Site and Course are meant for adults. You must be at least 18 to buy the Course or create an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above. If a change is significant, we will also tell customers by email.
